As a student, technological education courses will allow you to customize your education and improve your prospects for success in school, your career, and life.

Communications Technology courses

Our Communications Technology courses are designed to introduce you to concepts and skills that can lead to a potential career in one of the many fields. These include television, film, radio and audio, print and graphic communications, photography, and interactive new media and animation. These courses will help you explore related environmental and societal issues, develop an awareness of the pathways that lead to a career, and prepare you for work as a professional.

Computer Technology courses

Our Computer Technology courses provide you with an opportunity to investigate the exciting new developments in the field of computer technology. You will be introduced to basic concepts, skills, components, and terminology, including computer systems, networking, interfacing, and programming, as well as electronics and robotics. You'll also develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and explore secondary and postsecondary pathways that lead to a career in the field.

Construction Technology courses introduce students to concepts and skills in construction technology, which encompasses plumbing, electrical and network wiring, masonry, heating/ cooling, carpentry, and woodworking. Students will develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will begin to explore secondary and postsecondary pathways leading to careers in the field.

Exploring Technology courses

Exploring Technology courses allow you to explore and develop your skills introduced in the elementary science and technology program. You'll develop the skills to design and create products and services using tools and technologies used in industry. You'll explore environmental and societal issues and learn about other fields related to your program of study. You'll explore secondary and postsecondary education options and training opportunities that lead to a career in technology-related fields.

Green Industries courses

Through our Green Industries courses, you'll be introduced to concepts and skills related to the green industries, including agriculture, forestry, horticulture, floristry, and landscaping. You'll develop a greater awareness of the related environmental and societal issues, and explore secondary and postsecondary pathways leading to a successful career in the field.

Hairstyling and Aesthetics courses will introduce you to concepts and skills relevant to hairstyling and aesthetics. Students learn about hair, nail, and skin care applications, and develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues. You'll learn about the industry and explore their options for secondary and postsecondary pathways leading to careers in the field.

Health Care courses

Through our Health Care courses, you'll investigate personal health factors and be introduced to the range of careers in the health care industry. These courses will help prepare you for a rewarding career in a sector that's expanding as our population ages. Learn about the careers available including childcare worker, dental assistant/dentist, gerontologist, medical laboratory technician/technologist, doctor, nursing assistant/nurse, pharmacy assistant/pharmacist, and personal support worker.

Through real-world care scenarios and simulated learning experiences, you will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to begin your career in health care by practicing current techniques. You'll also gain hands-on experience using industry-standard instruments, equipment, and materials.

The course is designed provide you with transferrable problem-solving skills that you can apply to real-life situations. You'll have an opportunity to expand your professional terminology as well as communication and interpersonal skills as you interact with your peers and clients in simulated-care scenarios. As you build theoretical understanding and practical skills, you'll be prepared to make informed​ career choices.
